Online video download

Could someone advise me how to download online video from internet? Or is
there any powerful software for online video download? The downloader
software that I'm now using can only download video from some websites but
fail for some other websites. Many thanks!

'download video from the internet' is too vague.
exactly what kind if video are you trying to download?
flash video? wmv? avi?
are you trying to capture streaming video?
you said some sites you can download but some you can't so give an
example/web address where you can't get video
