Could anyone recommend reliable Media Center Extenders? I've recently moved
house so need to move things around, which is the sole reason for needing a
Media Center Extender. I used to record and watch Uk Terrestrial Tv through
Vista Media Centre, hooked up to my Tv and Hi-Fi and now have a fairly large
catalogue of recorded movies (from terrestrial broadcasts).

My Vista PC will no longer sit in my living room (near the Tv), though my
hi-fi system will (ie amplifier and speakers).

An S-video output from the extender would be useful, until I switch to a
newer Tv (which will have HDMI).

My PC is connected to the internet through a Netgear ADSL wireless router
(which is capable of running at "N" speeds), though this speed shouldnt be
necessary, as my movie collection is on a NAS containing PATA drives and the
effective data transfer rate was only ~3Mb/sec - I never had any jitter
problems.

Any advice appreciated

Thanks
Mark

I use an Xbox 360 Arcade. Works a treat.

No need for a hard drive on the Xbox. You can set the Xbox to start in Media
Centre Extender so i just turn it on and it connects

It came with HDMI and component outputs
