Problem witrh Media Centre - Home Premium

WINDOWS MEDIA I bought a new PC with Vista Premium. I use a Hauppauge Nova T
USB2 Digital box.

This was working all fine and I managed to VIEW and record programs to my
hard disk. Then out of the blue I started getting various massages and I
cannot use media centre. I can However still watch TV through the Hauppauge
provided Software which is no good for my purposes.

Messages I get:
WINDOWS MEDIA CENTRE RECEIVER SERVICE STOPPED WORKING AND WAS CLOSED. A
problem casued the application to stop working. Windows will notify you if a
solution is availble.

I go to Administrative tools and strart the sErvice up again but it
immediately stops again.

Sometime I manage to actually open Media Centre and when I click on Watch
Live TV or any of the affiliated functions I get the followin Media Centre
message:

TUNER NOT INSTALLED. Video cannot be displayed becasue no tuner hardware has
been detected. etc etc

I know the tuner is working as I can view through Hauppage WinTV software.
When I try all other installation options, it comes back with the same
message.

I have tried to contact MS with no avail. Ages on the phone and also their
online e-mail service........ yes.also an error message when I try to send
the info:
AN ERROR HAS OCCURED.....TRY LATER and I have been trying multiple times for
the last 2 weeks without change

Have you installed the BDA drivers for your card? Many cards give you a
choice of native drivers used by the manufacturers tv application or BDA
drivers used by Media Centre or other generic TV apps.

I am using Avermedia's USB2 MCE card and it works very well apart from the
recorded volume being a bit low. Avermedia's email support is non-existant.
