ok so maybe I need to catch up but I'm a bit puzzled by a HD symbol that
has appeared next to some film listings in windows media center. But I'm
only using a Freeview box for my Vista MC and I wasn't aware that High
Definition was actually being broadcast over the air in the UK yet, or
is it?

I have had this in MCE2005 on a couple of programmes. Clearly a mistake in
the EPG data. For the UK, MCE2005 cannot do any form of HD (Freeview,
Freesat, or subscription Sat or Cable), even Vista cannot.

Windows 7 will be able to though since it supports H.264.

My theory is that for channels like Channel4 which are available in HD on
Freesat, the provider of the EPG data has incorrectly labelled the same
program on Freeview as HD when it is only HD on Freesat.

I have also seen on at least one occasion a similar flag saying the
programme was protected when _no_ programmes are protected using this method
in the UK (it is a US scheme to transmit a protect flag with the programme).
